All of the programs that CODA has established or are developing are implemented through direct relationships with the transplant hospitals in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
CODA believes that transplant clinic administrators and hospital social workers at those hospitals are best able to identify transplant recipients who would benefit the most from its financial assistance programs.
CODA works closely with the transplant clinic administrators and hospital social workers to make sure that your financial contribution goes to a recipient whose needs can best be met by a CODA program.
Organ transplant recipients, or those on a waiting list, are all ages and income levels. Middle class families can fall out of the middle-class and the poor can become poorer when an organ transplant is required.
CODA's programs are intended to provide financial assistance so that the wonderful gift of a life-saving organ does not have the unintended consequence of depriving a family of middle-class status or creating greater hardship for the poor.
Through these programs, and with your help, CODA hopes to reduce further strain on the social safety net in the DFW area.
